This sturdy aluminum lens hood blocks sidelight and in this way it prevents image flaws such as lens flare and faint contrast which may be caused by reflections on lenses or lens frames. Furthermore the lens hood absorbs light impact and it keeps rain drops off the front lens.
Incl. an adapter ring for mounting the lens hood and/or a 49mm filter
The lens hood comes with an adapter ring which is used to mount it on the camera lens. The adapter ring also works as a filter adapter. For this purpose the adapter ring offers a 49mm female thread, so that you can attach a filter, a close-up lens or a lens cap to it. And as the bayonet mount for the actual lens hood is on the outer rim of the adapter ring, the female thread is usable even with the lens hood attached to the adapter.
